Wikipedia and the rest of the Wikipedia foundation's projects aim to make accessible the knowledge to the biggest number of people possible and in their own languages. To fulfill that ideal purpose is difficult and additional challenges arise when starting projects in languages thretened or of minorities. My intention is to diagnose those challenges through the analysis of the proposal for the Mapundung Wikipedia, the language of the Mapuche people of Chile and Argentina. Recruiting Internet-skilled native speakers is one of the identified critical issues Among the critical identified points, as the translation of the interface, and the start-up of an Wikimedia Incubator test wiki. | ||
