Abstract

The English Wikipedia 1.0 project is now able to produce offline releases of selected articles, such as "Version 0.7", using a very different approach than the German 1.0 project. These selections are based on metadata compiled by WikiProjects on 1.7 million articles, using manual article assessments combined with a topic importance algorithm. This presentation describes the process used for producing past versions, as well as plans for general and specialised releases in the future.
