Abstract | ||
In December 2008, Wikimedia Germany proudly announced a cooperation with the German Federal Archive (Bundesarchiv) that included the release of 100.000 images to Wikimedia Commons. The negotiation process took more than a year and the agreement consists of several work packages which are related to the "person data" project in the German language Wikipedia. This talk is going to explain the history of this agreement, its work packages, the public reception and the lessons we learned during implementation. The last part is an instruction how to initiate such cooperations in other countries. | ||
