Abstract | ||
The Wikimedia Foundation is the organization behind Wikipedia and its eight sister projects: Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikispecies, Wikinews, Wikiversity and Wikimedia Commons. The job of the Wikimedia Foundation is to support Wikimedia's volunteer community in developing and delivering free educational materials to everyone around the world, in their own language, for free. Over the past year, the staff of the Wikimedia Foundation has grown significantly, enabling it to better support the Wikimedia community. In this session, Executive Director Sue Gardner will walk through some Wikimedia Foundation highlights from the past year, and talk about what's coming in the year ahead. | ||
